Two join business group board
THE centre helping small businesses across Falkirk district has appointed two new board members.
Diane Paterson of Ecosse in Bo'ness and Raymond McNeill of Avecia in Grangemouth will help steer the future direction of Falkirk Enterprise Action Trust.
The Trust, based at Newhouse Business Park in Grangemouth, provides a range of services for local firms - including advice and training as part of the national Business Gateway.
Much of the support is provided for free or at low cost thanks to funding from Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley and Falkirk Council.
Diane (32) runs a custom car firm with partner Matthew Collins from a base in Bo'ness's Bomains Industrial Estate. With the help of FEAT, Ecosse was launched eight years ago. It?s now seen as one of the leading modification firms for Peugeot cars in the UK.
"I'll always be an avid supporter of FEAT,? said Diane, who also lives in Bo'ness. ?FEAT has always been on tap for me, so I hope I can help FEAT as member of the board. I'd like to see the Trust grow its services. It provides valuable advice for local businesses and I think it can do more in the future."
She added: "I've been told I'm the youngest member of the FEAT board, so hopefully I can bring a bit of fresh thinking. I'm not frightened to put my opinions over."
Raymond (50) is an operations manager at Avecia. Married with two children, he lives in Brightons.
"Avecia already has a good relationship with FEAT, and the chance to join the board of trustees came up through that. I'm delighted to take on the role.
"Through my role at Avecia, I work with a number of businesses - so I jumped at the chance to be involved with the Trust. There's lots of people starting their own businesses these days. With the help of groups like FEAT we can help them grow and reach their potential."
FEAT director Russell Parker said the organisation was pleased to attract Diane and Raymond to its board of trustees. He said: "I'm sure their experience and backgrounds will really help us and the businesses we support. As trustees they will help shape the overall future strategy for the Trust."

Falkirk Enterprise Action Trust (FEAT) provides a range of services to help businesses start-up and develop in the Falkirk area. Working in a consortium with Stirling Enterprise and Ceteris, FEAT delivers the Falkirk element of the Forth Valley Business Gateway contract (delivered on behalf of Scottish Enterprise Forth Valley).
