Gift of Christmas at Kinneil Museum
 CARING volunteers have spread some Christmas cheer – by donating a real Christmas tree and decorations to Kinneil Museum in Bo'ness.
Members of The Friends of Kinneil made the gift as part of their work to promote and enhance the historic building and its surrounding estate.
Chairman Adrian Mahoney said: "The Friends have worked incredibly hard over the past year to raise the profile of the museum and its surrounding parkland. The museum is open over the winter months, and we hope the Christmas tree will attract people inside over the festive period."
He added: "Visitors may even find a few festive stocking fillers to buy from the museum shop."
The gift was praised by Councillor Robert Spears, the convener of Falkirk Council's environment and heritage committee. He thanked the Friends for the donation of the 6ft fir tree and said: "This will help spread the Christmas cheer here at Kinneil."
The museum is located in the 17th century stable block of Kinneil House (pictured below) and acts as an interpretative centre for the surrounding estate. Antoninus Pius, St Serf, Mary, Queen of Scots and James Watt are among the many historical characters associated with the area. The museum is open Monday to Saturday from 12.30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
